Our Vision
Millbrook Kyeeko Christian Center is dedicated to making a Life-Changing Impact in young, impoverished girls’ lives in rural Kenya by providing the opportunity to attend Millbrook Girls’ Senior/High School in Makueni County. The safe, nurturing and inspirational environment at this all-girls boarding school provides a culture of achievement and empowers girls to develop leadership skills. The girls are challenged to commit to excellence and to achieve their full academic potential with support through the love of Jesus Christ.
At Millbrook, girls are protected from
- child labor
- social stigmas and limitations
- period poverty
- child marriage
- child pregnancies
- exploitation
- abuse.
Educating Girls
- inspires confidence in girls to set goals and strive towards them
- gives hope to girls for their future
- empowers girls and their families
- achieves greater gender equality
- changes socio-cultural attitudes
- creates greater social consciousness
Educated girls are much more likely to educate their own children. They have healthier families and communities. A good education combined with better knowledge of nutrition; menstruation; mental physical health education also leads to better health, fewer child pregnancies, and a longer life span for the girls and their families. Educating girls leads to better income, which leads to better economic growth for communities, cities, and nations.
Educating girls is the greatest single thing that can be done to end poverty and change the trajectory of girls’ lives!
